A massive thank you to the digital leaders for taking time after school to introduce the staff to a new website. Kahoot is a quiz based site and the digital leaders showed staff how to create quizzes linked to their topics and then play the quizzes to assess understanding within the class. As you can see, when the staff played, it became quite competitive. You may be able to just about make out who won! Continue reading →
This afternoon saw Year 5 finalising their designs and then making their African masks! The children had lots of fun and were very careful when making their masks, referring back to their designs and the success criteria that they formulated. At the end of the day, we reenacted a traditional Mali celebration by dancing in the hall with our masks on. Continue reading →
Today the Year 2 children finally received the eggs that they have waited for! As part of our topic ‘Take a Trip in a Time Machine, we have been learning all about chicks and eggs. The children have been eagerly waiting for the eggs to arrive, and finally Farmer Nigel arrived with 10 chicken eggs for us to care for. We will be watching closely for signs of the chicks hatching over the next few days. We cannot wait to see first-hand the amazing process that we have been learning about this term.
The nursery children have been using numicon to learn about one to one correspondence. The activities have helped the children to put value to numbers. They practised their fine motor skills by using tweezers to pick up pom-poms and place them into the holes on the numicon shapes, counting the pom-poms as they went along. They played a game where they had to pull a numicon shape out of a freely bag and show the corresponding number of fingers on some plastic hands. They used markers to stamp inside the holes in the numicon pieces and searched for numicon in the sand. They chalked around giant numicon pieces outside in the yard and then had to count as they jumped on the circles they had chalked. They even made numicon monsters using playdough and googly eyes. Da iawn nursery! Gwaith da!
Nursery had a lovely morning taking part in different sports activities for Sports Relief. They finished the lesson with some relaxing yoga in the classroom! They used up lots of energy and were tired out when leaving! Da iawn pawb.

Year 1 have had a busy day today for Sportrelief. They loved using the balance bikes this morning and it was great to see some of them gain in confidence as they practised. Then, we joined Year 2 and the children completed various different challenges, which also helped develop numeracy skills as they timed themselves doing different exercises.
This afternoon, the children did a couple of laps around the village. They were amazing and I am so proud of how well they did. Ardderchog!!
Year 2 have had lots of fun today taking part in our Sports Relief activities. They began by participating in Yoga sessions in class. Ozzy Osprey visited the children at playtime to show his support. The children then moved outside to complete independent timed challenges, where they used the skills that they have been working on in PE lessons. After lunch it was time for the sponsored run around the village. The children did very well and it was lovely to see the junior pupils cheering them on! Lots of fun was had by all whilst raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
Key stage 2 have had a fantastic morning participating in a rotation of activities. These included netball, hockey, hoolahooping and CrossFit. The children were able to practise a variety of skills and they all thoroughly enjoyed. A huge thank you to Owen from CrossFit and Gavin from Sports Development Swansea.
