Year 3 are proud to be Welsh!

Year 3 have enjoyed taking part in our school Eisteddfod today. They worked hard to learn our poem ‘Joio’ and performed it to everyone with joy and enthusiasm. It was also a pleasure to listen to them singing the National Anthem and welsh hymns with passion and pride.

As part of our Eisteddfod competitions, the children had to create a piece of art work. In Year 3, we studied the myth ‘The Giant of Snowdonia’. We began by activating our prior knowledge by sharing lots of interesting Snowdonia facts as well as learning many more! They then looked at images of Mount Snowdon and tried to re-create a scene using oil pastels. We talked about the shading and mixing of colours – the work that the children produced was absolutely fantastic! Well done boys and girls!
