Our maths focus in Year 5 this week has been money in real life situations. On Monday we looked at budgeting, overdrafts and paying with cash or credit cards. On Tuesday we concentrated on different types of bank accounts such as savings and current accounts. On Wednesday we looked at bank statements and how to interpret them. We finished today by looking at currency exchange and the price of things around the world! We also looked at a live currency exchange and saw how often currencies change in real time. The children have learnt a lot about how money works in reality and also had their maths skills tested at the same time.
