  • Bronze Sports Ambassador Training.

    Today our two Year 5 pupils will receive training for their important role as sports ambassadors. They will be trained in writing an action plan, leading warm up games and will be given advice and guidance on how to promote Pontlliw to be an even healthier school.

  • Children in Need – Reception

    What a great day we all had. Reception dressed the part and had fun making masks, counting spots and creating fantastic Pudsey pictures. All for a very good cause! We were all so busy, they should be tired teddy bears tonight!

    Pontlliw School have had a fantastic morning celebrating Children in Need. Pupils and staff were a wonderful sight to see in our achievers assembly. The children are now looking forward to the toast and cake sell. Thank you all for your donations.

  • Eye of the storm

    Year 5/6 thoroughly enjoyed theatre Na’nog’s eye of the storm performance. They then had the opportunity to develop their Science skills at the museum to create their own tornado.

  • Stick Man.

    The nursery and reception children had a super Welly Wednesday full of ‘Stick Man’ activities. Firstly the nursery children joined reception to hear the Stick man story, then they all went outside for some fabulous Stick man themed activities.

  • Tasty Tacos!

    Our special sound of the week this week was ‘T’ so the nursery children made some some tasty tacos. They chose from a selection of healthy fillings to put in their taco shells. Delicious!

  • The B Word

    Today the children in Years 2-6 enjoyed watching a production about bullying, called ‘The B Word’. The children watched attentively and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The show was very informative, and covered lots of issues including cyber bullying. The children were also taught about what bullying means, and when they term ‘bullying’ should be used.

  • All about us!

    We have had a busy time getting to know each other in Year 1, so thought we would celebrate our ‘all about me’ fortnight by decorating some cakes to look like our faces! I’m sure the children enjoyed eating their creations too! We are all looking forward to starting this term’s topic next week….Superheroes!

  • Farewell Fire with Friends.

  • We must be mad…

    The children have just had a ‘refreshing’ swim in the sea. We are now warm after a lovely shower, enjoying a hot chocolate, having a chat about today’s activities and achievements.

  • Playing games and building dens.

    The afternoon we went into Mill Wood to play games, build dens, light fires, make cookie dough and cook the dough. We’ve laughed so hard our stomachs hurt…your children are amazing!

  • Day two, Group 2

    Today we’ve been body boarding, for a walk on the beach, taking in the sights and learning about the history of Port Eynon, looking in rock pools and for an ice cream. We have a had a fantastic day, making awesome memories. We are currently playing cards, DS and having a good laugh with mates.

  • The morning after the night before

    After a LATE night, the children are full of beans and are excited for today’s activity … Body boarding and a walk along the coast.

  • Borfa House Day 1

    We have had quite a busy day… First the theatre company and now Borfa House. This afternoon we’ve been playing team games in the dunes and getting blown about the place. The boys are currently having a game of football and the girls are chilling and chatting.

    Year 4 have made an excellent start to their academic year. They are very enthusiastic and hard working. They have started their Wild West Topic and are eager to learn more…

    The children are extremely enthusiastic having come back from their summer holidays and are looking forward the topics and activities that we have planned for the year!

    What a wonderful day we have all had so far in Year 1. The children are bubbling with enthusiasm and they have been busy exploring their new classroom. We are having great fun getting to know each other and we are looking forward to a super year ahead…

    The children were very enthusiastic to begin their first day of Year 6, their final year of Pontlliw Primary. It’s so lovely to see their smilie faces after the Summer holidays. We have an extremely busy year ahead, lots of new projects and fun times… let the games begin!
