WRU Minecraft ”Club of the future Competition” 🏉

As a Minecraft Learning Centre for Wales, we are very excited to be rolling out the WRU Minecraft ”Club of the Future” competition to all our learners from Y2 – Y6. They were shown the details of the competition this morning in our virtual assembly. More details can be found here: https://hwb.gov.wales/news/article/dfa48424-898c-4522-9b49-23062fc441e1

Lots of the children have opted to be involved in this project and will be added to a Microsoft Team where they will be given instructions by myself. All activities will take place in the children’s own time but I will be available to the children to support them if they need help via the Team or in school.

For your child to participate you will need to have the latest version of Microsoft Education Edition on a home device – Other editions will not work. This can be downloaded from https://education.minecraft.net/get-started/download/ on to a windows or apple and now chromebook device. Once downloaded, children will need to log in with their hwb usernames and password.

I will issue challenges to them over the coming weeks – younger learners may need help from parents – I will endeavour to make the instructions as clear as possible. The first challenge to download the world and explore has been set. Instructions and a ‘how to video’ is available in the Teams assignment.

Pupils will be put into groups of 3,4 or 5 and work together to complete the project.

Good luck to all involved.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mr Stonham
