Diversity Developers 25-26!

Our Mission Statement:
Our purpose is to champion diversity, build an inclusive culture, and do our part to create a more equitable world.
Our Aims:
- To develop our availability of diverse books within the school.
- To help to educate the school about the diversity of our area and how this impacts the school.
- To encourage an Anti-racist approach within the school.
- To create a diversity calendar of celebrations for our school.
- To celebrate ‘Diversity day’ and encourage the support of our local community.
Meeting Minutes
Focus for the Autumn Term: Celebration of SRRC Day/Posters for the school.
25.09.25
- To begin the session we looked at a small educational video on Diversity and how this has impacted our lives and community.
- Pupils discussed the areas of celebration for the school and the importance of celebrating the differences in us all.
- We discussed with the Year 6 pupils their presentations, and talked about the roles that they could take part in. The year 6 pupils will present and the group will vote for their Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretaries.

- The Year 6 pupils began the session presenting to the rest of the group. They had prepared speeches explaining why they would be good at the roles available.
- The children discussed their options and voted on the pupils they believed would be the best;

- Vice secretary
- The pupils felt that it was important for all pupils to have a role.
- Finally the first focus for the Diversity group will be SRRC Day – the Chair has been given time to discuss with the group some ideas for celebration, and to deliver an assembly on the day.

- All Year 6 pupils in Borfa
- Discussion with the group of the Diversity Action plan for the year.
- We looked at the possibility of introducing new visitors to the school to help pupils understand other cultures.
- The pupils watched the SRRC video explaining how the charity was set up and the importance of its message.
- A date was chosen for the celebration with the pupils deciding that they would invite children to wear read to school to show support.
- The Diversity group will make new posters for the school to spread the message of Diversity.
