Spring Term 2026
15/01/26
- Today the Eco Warriors enjoyed reading Coming Home by Michael Morpurgo, which helped us learn about birds and why they are so important to our world. We discovered that birds help the environment in lots of ways. Their droppings go into the soil and help plants grow, and they also spread pollen, which bees can collect. This taught us how birds support the ecosystem.
- To build on our learning, we decided on a fun project where we will make bird houses/feeders using recyclable materials to help look after our local wildlife.
- We worked together by splitting into five different groups to begin our project.
29/1/2026
- During today's session we got back into our groups and started to discuss what we wanted our bird feeders to look like.
- We then started to design our milk bottle bird feeders, using a template ensuring to include the key features.
- Next steps: To create our bird feeders and feed and place them in the outdoor areas around our school.
11/03/26
- Today we worked together as tables to think of lots of different ideas of how we could improve behaviour across our school. We focused on how to be ready, respectful and safe.
- We developed lots of fantastic ideas, and we recorded them on a shared document to help gather every class’s ideas. This will help feed into what the school decides what defines these 3 headings.
