Welcome/Headteacher's Message
Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Pontlliw,
It is my pleasure as Headteacher to welcome you to Pontlliw Primary School’s website on behalf of the pupils, staff and governors. We are all very proud of our school, where the children are at the heart of everything we do. It is a happy, nurturing and inclusive school that places a high priority on wellbeing.
Pontlliw School is at the heart of a wonderful village with a strong sense of community, which creates a sense of belonging and community pride in our children. The school has worked hard on providing our pupils with a curriculum that provides a wide range of exciting, enjoyable and challenging opportunities based on authentic learning experiences and pupil choice. The curriculum is supported by a talented, hard-working and enthusiastic team of staff who ensure that pupils make good progress and are becoming ambitious, capable learners.
Our school motto is ‘Planting the seeds for a lifetime of growth’ and we hope that our pupils become lifelong learners and reach their potential. High expectations, safe and secure learning environments and strong working relationships with parents and all agencies ensure that our pupils have the best opportunities to achieve.
Selecting a school that will provide the best education for a child is one of the most important decisions that you as parents and carers make for your children. We are committed to forming a partnership between home and school and highly value our relationships with parents. If you are thinking of sending your child to Pontlliw Primary School, you are more than welcome to ring the office and arrange a visit. I look forward to meeting you and taking you around our school.
Please enjoy exploring our website, as well as our Twitter (X) page, where you will see all the fun and exciting experiences your children have during their time with us.
