Year 3 really enjoyed their cricket taster session today. They had the opportunity to learn and develop a number of new skills such as throwing, catching and batting. Da iawn boys and girls 😀
Year 1 had a great cricket session today. We practised lots of different skills and had lots of fun!
What a fantastic time the Year 3’s had visiting the Liberty Stadium today. In the morning, the children took part in a healthy eating workshop where they found out lots of important information about different food groups and what types of food professional rugby players eat to keep themselves fit and healthy. After listening carefully to the information, they were challenged to make their own healthy sandwich. They had lots of different ingredients to chose from but they had to pick really carefully to ensure their sandwich had the correct proportion of carbohydrate, protein, dairy and fat as outlined on the ‘Eat Well’ plate. What a brilliant effort boys and girls, your sandwiches looked amazing! I hope you enjoyed eating them.
In the afternoon, the children were given a tour of the stadium. They thoroughly enjoyed this experience and loved having the opportunity to see what it was like to be in the shoes of a professional rugby player, even if it was just for a day!
The nursery children have been very busy raising money for ‘Children in Need’. They wore their pyjamas to school today and took part in a range of ‘Pudsey’ themed activities. Dai iawn everyone!
The nursery children enjoyed their P.E lesson this morning. Super throwing and catching everyone!
The Nursery children had a great time today. To develop their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills, they hammered golf tees into a melon! They were very careful and put their safety googles on first. What fun!
Our number of the week this week was three, so the children made some healthy fruit kebabs using three different fruits. They chose from a selection of fruit including; apples, strawberries, kiwi, tangerines, bananas and pineapple. What a healthy snack! They tasted delicious too.
The children enjoyed their first mindfulness after school club. We have been doing yoga stretches, colouring, relaxation and breathing techniques. Continue reading
This morning, the KS2 children were put through their paces by taking part in a live workout with Joe Wicks. Everyday this week, KS2 will be getting fit at 10am. What a way to wake us all up on a Monday morning! Da iawn boys and girls – awesome effort!
We had a special visit today from paramedics Steff and Tash, along with their ambulance. In PSE this term we have been learning about first aid and the DR ABC method and are so lucky to have had this opportunity this afternoon. The session was so informative and the children thoroughly enjoyed having their stats read and being able to explore inside the ambulance. The children had lots of questions to ask and each of them was answered in detail. A huge thank you, I’m sure the children will remember this session for a long time!
