The nursery children used their problem solving skills today to build bridges across the construction area. They worked as a team, using planks of wood and blocks to construct bridges that they were able to walk across. They then used their balancing skills to walk across their constructions. Gwaith da nursery! Think we have some future engineers!
The nursery children have been having fun in their new outdoor airport. They wrote tickets, checked the flight times and even checked in their luggage. They also had time to play in the water, on the bikes and scooters, and dig in the sand. They even found a giant spider!
Year 3/4 had a great day today at the Swansea Tennis Centre. They were taking part in a local tournament with nine other primary schools in Swansea. They won many of their matches showing great skill and determination. Well done boys and girls, you certainly are a credit to our school and we are all very proud of what you achieved today.
The weather was a little bit too wet for us to go outside first thing this morning but it didn’t stop our fun. We made edible mud pies, worm paintings using string instead of paintbrushes and even threaded Cheerios on to string and straws to make giant worms. We coloured Superworm pictures and designed our very own superhero pants! The sun eventually came out and we were able to have a little play outside before home time.
What a busy week we have had in nursery! The children have been making the most of the sunshine and playing outside on the bikes, scooters and Thomas the Tank Engine. Welly Wednesday was all about minibeasts, so they joined the reception class to listen to poems about creepy crawlies before going outside on a minibeast hunt. They also made some lovely ladybird biscuits using raisins for the spots. As our special sound of the week was ‘v’ they made some healthy vegetable wraps
The nursery children have been busy having lots of fun today. As it was such a lovely day they had their P.E lesson outdoors. To develop their hand eye coordination they practised throwing and catching. They also practised balancing bean bags and quoits, and rolling hoops. They’ll be ready when sports day arrives!
The nursery and reception children have had a busy morning. They listened to the story Jasper’s Beanstalk, then they went outside to do their own planting. They participated in a variety of garden themed activities. They painted a picture of a beanstalk, sorted different coloured beans into plant pots, played giant dominos, ordered stones into size, as well as lots of other activities. They all had a lovely morning, even the sun came out, eventually!
The children have been busy this half term working on their gymnastics skills. They have practised their balancing, travelling, jumping and being able to work as a team! In small groups they choreographed a short sequence which they performed to their friends. The performances were peer assessed and they were given targets how to make them even better for next time. Da iawn pawb!
