Our literacy focus this half term is instructional writing. We have looked at some of the features of this genre and tried to put what we had learnt into practice by helping our partner through an obstacle course with their eyes shut. We then moved indoors out of the rain and tried to do the same with drawing a house, blindfolded. We learnt that only 7% of our normal communication is verbal, so we needed to be clear and concise, using time connectives, adverbs and bossy verbs to help them through the task.
