Autumn Term Focus
Safety Reflectors and Road Safety
Meeting Minutes
25/9/2025
We started by voting in our Chair, Vice Chair and Secretaries.
Then we went over our goals for the safety soldiers for the year.
9/10/2025
Over 85% attendance! Only a few off. Then we talked about our first aim of giving a reflector to every child in our school and who is going to pay for them.
After that we watched 3 little videos about the reflectors and how it keeps us safe. Then we all agreed that they look cool!
We looked at all the reflectors, and we saw lots of different ones. We decided that we are going to ask the PTA for some money for the money.
We researched lots of different reflectors. We found a 50pc reflector pack for £3.54. Then we thought that all the reflectors should be the same so no one argues they will only have one choice. We voted if they wanted Stars, lightning bolts and Smiley faces.
Smiley = 4 votes
Lightning = 9 votes
Stars = 15 votes
23/10/2025
We wrote an email to the PTA to ask them to pay for the safety reflectors. Then we designed posters to display around the school to remind everyone to use the safety reflectors once they are given them.
Spring Term 2026
15/1/2026
We sorted out the reflectors from the PTA and discussed how we would go back to our classes and tell everyone what they were for. We decided to hand them out today and emailed the teachers to let them know what we were going to do.
We decided that in the next meeting we will focus on safety in the yard and will make posters to encourage the children to play safely.
29/1/2026
Today we discussed road safety issues as we have noticed that some cars are stopping or parking on the zig zag lines outside our school.
We decided to send an email to all parents to ask them politely to help us by not parking or stopping on the zig zag lines, so we can make sure our pupils are safe.
We then started our safety in the yard posters, which we will finish in the next session.
