Following our visit to the fire station, a parent in our school kindly volunteered to come to speak to our pupils about his role as a firefighter. Before the visit, the pupils thought about what else they wanted to find out and we sent a whole class email with some questions to Mr Godwin. The pupils loved hearing about his role and Mr Godwin was also able to answer some of their questions in relation to the recent local incident in Morriston. He showed them some of his uniform and equipment and even donated some items to our school for us to use! He also spoke to the pupils about staying safe and the importance of having a fire alarm. Mr Godwin did mention that if you do not have a fire alarm at home, you are able to contact your local fire station who can install one for you for free. Diolch to Mr Godwin for taking the time to come to speak to us- the pupils thoroughly enjoyed and found it really interesting.
