Last week Santa set Beech Class a challenge: design and make a candle jar that will be safe, let light through, protect the workshop bench from the heat and look Christmassy. (Our class elf Buddy had knocked over a candle in Santa’s workshop and set his Christmas tree on fire, so he knew the perfect class to ask for help!) Thankfully, the Year 2 children rose to the challenge! After considering the design brief, they set about designing some super candle jars. They worked very hard making them this week. Next we will evaluate the jars, thinking about what worked well, what didn’t go as planned and how we could improve our designs.
