This week, as part of our Big Question hook day activities, Dosbarth Beech were asked the question ‘Are the roads outside our school busy?’. The children decided that they would need to investigate in order to find out the answer. They felt that a traffic survey using tallying would be the best way to gather the data they needed. The children made lots of great observations and used a table effectively to tally the different types of vehicles that they spotted. The children couldn’t believe just how busy the roads outside our school are, and upon returning to school they wrote about what their data showed.
