The Year 2 have enjoyed creating their own stories about a little yellow leaf this week. We began by looking at an image from The Little Yellow Leaf by Carin Berger. We made predictions about the events before and after the image shown. Then the children worked in small groups to sequence a number of images from the book, using clues in the illustrations to work out the order of the events. After reading and discussing the story, the children then tried their hand at becoming authors and writing a sequel to the story, where they all enjoyed writing about the adventures of the little yellow leaf.
