Today the Year 2 children enjoyed learning about Shrove Tuesday. They rotated around a variety of activities, in which they needed to use their literacy, numeracy, Welsh and computer skills. The children completed data collection based on their favourite pancake toppings, and then used JIT to create charts. They then wrote about what the data shows. They then designed happy, healthy pancake faces using lots of fruit and learned the names of lots of fruits in Welsh, before they had the opportunity to make their pancakes. The children also thoroughly enjoyed playing a Crempog game, using their maths and Welsh skills to good effect. Finally, we read about the reason why and how Shrove Tuesday is celebrated in the UK, finishing the day with a fun quiz. What a busy, fun-filled day we have had in Year 2!
