What a busy week we have had in Year 2! The children have been completing lots of activities based on bonfire night, as this term our big question is ‘Why do we celebrate?’. We have been finding out about celebrations which use light, so this week the children further developed their digital, numeracy and literacy skills through a range of bonfire night activities. We made shape and sense poems, wrote about bonfire night in Welsh, sequenced the gunpowder plot events, practised our counting and multiplication skills through making number rod fireworks, followed instructions to make chocolate apples, made firework safety posters, solved firework themed worded problems and designed super junk model rockets. The children are looking forward to celebrating bonfire night this evening, and I am sure they will impress you with their knowledge and the skills they have developed throughout the week.
