Today, Dosbarth Beech enjoyed our hook day which launched this term’s Big Question ‘How has our world changed?’. The children worked through lots of focus activities including using an atlas to investigate their place in the world. They also further developed their understanding of line, space and colour when sketching the continents and then painting them using watercolours. We also completed our EPIC planning (Everyone Planning In Class), where the children looked at images linked to the big question and used them to develop smaller questions to guide our planning for the term ahead. For independent missions, playdough was used to create Earth models, Google Earth was used to investigate places of interest around the world, continents snap was enjoyed in small groups, and world map jigsaws were completed to name just a few. What a busy day we have had, and we are all excited about the term ahead!
