The Year 2s had a great morning hunting for Easter eggs! We started by discussing Easter traditions and the what the egg symbol represents in Christianity. The children then went hunting for eggs, and they had to use their maths skills, as different colour eggs were worth different points. The children worked brilliantly in teams, searching high and low. Then they got together to group the eggs, and had to count in 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s and 10s to find the total for each colour of egg collected. Finally they worked out their overall totals. What a lovely way to end a busy, fun-filled term. I’m sure the children will enjoy eating the chocolate treats that they took home today!
