Today the Year 2s have enjoyed starting their learning about features of persuasive texts. They thoroughly enjoyed looking at adverts and watching some television commercials, and were amazed at all the ways companies manage to persuade us to buy things. The children then enjoyed the story ‘Pig, Pigger and Piggest’ which introduced them to the concept of superlatives. We discussed how superlatives are used to persuade, describing items as coolest, newest, fastest and so on. Great work was undertaken when the children moved on to sorting persuasive words, grouping superlatives and writing sentences containing superlatives. Year 2, you are simply super!
