This week, the boys and girls have been finding out more about sharks. They investigated the question ‘Why don’t sharks sink?’ and found out that sharks have very oily livers. They enjoyed investigated this themselves by adding a mixture of oil and water into a bottle. They then put the bottle in a bucket of water and noticed that the bottle with the oil and water mixture didn’t sink! Fantastic investigating Year 1!
After our investigation, the boys and girls used this information to write an explanation text about sharks and enjoyed using the green screen to report their findings too – well done Year 1!
