Today, the Year 2 children were set a challenge, as part of their topic ‘Glitter and Glow’. The children were asked to investigate which is he most popular type of tree in Pontlliw Park. We began by learning about different trees, and ways to tell the differences between them. We decided how we could collect our data, and then pulled on our wellies and headed down to Pontlliw Park. The children showed lots of enjoyment and enthusiasm, and worked incredibly well when collecting their data, and used their leaf charts well. We then headed back to school and talked about our findings. We also enjoyed reading about why leaves change colour in the Autumn. The children are now keen to use their ICT skills to create bar charts on Hwb showing their data.
Da Iawn, Year 2! Super outdoor learning, using lots of skills whilst having great fun!
