As part of our big question ‘Why do we celebrate?’, this week Dosbarth Beech have been finding out about Claudia Jones and the Notting Hill carnival. We researched her life, using different sources and discussed why she set up the Notting Hill carnival. The children showed a super awareness of why diversity should be celebrated, and how important it is for everyone to be treated fairly. We then made some super carnival masks whilst listening to steel band music.
