Year 2 Mental Health Awareness Week

This year the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week is nature. Being able to access the natural environment is incredibly important in looking after our mental health. Being in nature, or even viewing scenes of nature reduces anger, fear and stress and increases pleasant feelings.

We looked at lots of activities that the children could do with this theme and they decided that they would like to make something using natural items found around the school. They each spent some time outside collecting leaves, twigs, flowers and shells. They then used the items to create a beautiful tree collage! They also took part in nature based yoga for their P.E session which was lots of fun! Well done Year 2!
