This week the Year 2 children have been looking at the book ‘The Little Yellow Leaf’ by Carin Berger. The children enjoyed looking closely at one of the illustrations without reading the book, and further developed their prediction and questioning skills based on what could happen in the story. Today they looked at more pictures from the book, again without reading the story. The children worked collaboratively to discuss the images, and sequenced them into their own stories. The children came up with some fantastic ideas using their wonderful imaginations. They then enjoyed listening to and discussing the actual story, comparing similarities and differences between the author’s story and the stories they developed. Gwaith da, Blwyddyn 2!
