One of the nursery children asked what would happen to their stick of chalk if it got wet, so we decided to investigate. Firstly the children put on their coats and wellies and went outside to chalk in the rain, then they decided to investigate further. They used the colourful chalks to draw on the tuff tray, then used a pipette to slowly drip water onto their drawing and the stick of chalk. Then they used a small toothbrush to see if the colours would mix together. What a fun, messy activity.
