Over the last few weeks, the children have been learning about the religion of Hinduism. They recently learned about the special celebration called Raksha Badhan or Rakhi. The word Raksha means protection and Badhan means tie. As part of the festival, Hindus traditionally give a bracelet to those they care about and wish to protect. The children designed beautiful, colourful bracelets which we then made using a variety of beads, charms and coloured thread. What lovely Rakhi bracelets they produced!
