As part of our Welsh Week activities, the Year 2 children have enjoyed listening to and retelling the myth Yr Afanc. The myth tells the story of how villagers managed to capture and re-home a fierce water creature. The children used their writing skills to write instructions for catching the mythical creature. They then looked at different paintings of what the Afanc could have looked like, and sketched their own Afanc pictures before painting them using watercolours. We listened to lots of Welsh folk music and male voice choirs throughout the week, and we are looking forward to celebrating in our school Eisteddfod after half term.
