Having let the tomatoes sit in the salt and baking powder for the past 2 weeks, the children were able to free their tomatoes this afternoon in order to make their observations. The children found it incredibly interesting to see what the salt had done to the tomatoes and the difference it had made to the tomatoes weight- one tomato went from 120g to 19.8g! Year 3 then enjoyed mummifying their tomatoes further by wrapping them in bandages and are excited to bring them home at the end of this week! This slideshow requires JavaScript.
