Year 6 enjoyed a first afternoon exploring the beach. They made ochre face paint and got to create designs on each other’s faces (even the teachers didn’t get away from the fun!) After that they visited the salt house, and learnt all about the smugglers who used to wreck ships using false lighthouses. On their way around the coastal path, the class stopped off on a small pebble beach and filled a bag with plastic that had washed up on the shore – learning about and highlighting the issues around plastic pollution.

They have finished their day with a dinner of pizza or ham, and are looking forward to an evening walk down to the beach.
