What a fantastic week we have had in Dosbarth Beech, learning all about the coronation of King Charles III. We started by researching the life of King Charles, and we were amazed by the interesting things we discovered about him. We used our creative skills to make King Charles profile collages, using symbols representing important things connected to our King. We also enjoyed learning about the crown jewels and items that will be used in the coronation, and then played ‘Pin the Diamond on the Crown’. (The children are looking forward to trying to spot the items we learned about when they watch the coronation on the television!) We have made some super crowns ready for today’s school celebrations, and the children will be bringing home colourful window decorations that they have created. In mission time this week, the boys and girls enjoyed modelling playdough crowns, composing music for the coronation and building Buckingham Palace using Lego.
