In preparation for World Mental Health Awareness Day, this afternoon the Year 2 children discussed ways in which we can improve our mental health. We started by discussing what mental health means, and the children were interested to learn about ways in which we can improve our mental wellbeing. We discussed strategies that the children could use to help them, such as mindfulness, listening to music, talking to others, deep breathing and so on. Each child then chose their top 5 strategies that they would try and use to improve their mental health. They also completed online questionnaires about the subject, listened to calm music, completed some mindfulness colouring and they absolutely loved participating in Minecraft yoga! What a great afternoon we have had.
