Today Year 2 have been extremely busy completing lots of activities linked to Safer Internet Day. The children began the day by listening to a story about how to deal with unkind comments online. We then did a circle time activity using wool, which showed the children how we are all connected to each other, and how this links to online safety.
This afternoon the children then rotated around a number of exciting activities which helped to further develop their understanding of ways to stay safe online.
We discussed digital footprints and made our own using our creative skills. We discussed items that are dangerous and safe, including technology, focusing on how they could be unsafe. We looked at emotions linked to different scenarios when being online. The children also enjoyed developing a class kindness tree, where they recorded ways that their friends have been kind to them, and we made connections to being kind when online.
What a busy, informative and fun-filled day where the children used lots of skills to develop their digital competency. Da iawn, Blwyddyn Dau!
