This week, Year 5 have been exploring the features of instructional texts while learning about the construction of Roman roads. They carefully followed instructions to create their own Roman road with ingredients representing different layers of a real Roman road. We used, chocolate representing cement, crushed biscuits for stones, chocolate buttons as rocks, marshmallows as broken tiles and, finally, malted milks as paving slabs! What a lovely way to spend Wellbeing Wednesday!
