We have had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day. We started the day by having a book swap. The children were then lucky enough to hear stories and have a Q and A with local authors Helen and Thomas Docherty. They loved hearing the story of Pirate Nell, rewrote the story in their own words and wrote Nell’s secret diary. They even had a go at creating their own illustrations by following instructions from Thomas! Hopefully, the children in Year 5 will have benefitted from spending time with such inspirational local people.
