Well… What an exciting day! This morning the children set up their business, thinking of a name for their company, a design for their cake, catchy slogans and looked at costing.
They then researched the ingredients, amounts in grams and converted to ounces and worked through the method whilst looking at oven temperature and cooking times.
This afternoon it was time for the bake off. The hall had a buzz of business and competition of weighing and measuring to the exact gram.
Once the cakes were in the oven we had 20 minutes to tidy up and even managed to fit in a quick Zumba session – burning calories to eat calories.
Mrs Norman then judged each cake on appearance, texture and taste.
The children thoroughly enjoyed. I was so proud of their independence to measure, crack eggs and work as a team.
