A Windy Welly Wednesday in Year 1!

The Year 1’s have had so much fun today making lots of weather related items during our welly Wednesday session. They made wind chimes using natural materials found around the school grounds which included sticks, leaves, shells, bark and we even found some acorns! They also made wind wands using big sticks and colourful crepe paper – it was wonderful watching the children run around the yard with their wind wands flying behind them, dancing in the wind. They also enjoyed making a windmill, although a little tricky, they did an amazing job. After the children had made them, we took them outside, stood it a windy spot, and watched their windmills whizz around. A fun afternoon had by all – well done boys and girls!
