Year 2 Learning about Van Gogh

Today, the children have been learning about who Vincent Van Gogh was and why he was so famous. They found out he was a Dutch artist, famous for using bright colours and bold brushstrokes in his work. He painted in a style called Post-Impressionism.

Together, we looked at a variety of his paintings and then focused on the well known Starry Night landscape. The children then worked in pairs to answer questions based on the painting, discussing the use of colours for light and dark and expressing their opinions on it. Da iawn pawb!
