The children enjoyed being composers today when they created their own piece of firework music! We looked at lots of fireworks on screen and discussed words used to describe the sound they make such as, pop, bang and whoosh! They then listened to ‘Fireworks’ by the famous composer Stravinsky before working in groups to create their own piece of music using a variety of instruments. Some chosen were maracas for the hissing and crackling of a sparkler and a xylophone for the high pitched squealing sound of a Catherine Wheel. They did a fantastic job!
