As part of our Big Question ‘Do all Superheroes wear capes?’, the children have been learning about Remembrance Day. They found out about the significance of the poppy and were especially fascinated to learn that the purple poppy is a symbol of remembrance for animals that served during wartime. The children have been using their ICT skills to create their own poppy fields and they enjoyed creating their own poppy pebbles, which we will display in our outdoor area- please take a look! We were also extremely lucky to have Mr. Commander visit our class to tell us about his role in the military. The children listened attentively to his experiences and loved seeing his medals and various artefacts. A huge thank you to Mr. Commander for taking the time to speak to us.
