We have started the theme of pirates this week and we began by listening to a clip from the film, Peter Pan. The children couldn’t see the film and didn’t know what it would be about, but they could hear it. They then had to draw what they felt the scene would show. Their ideas were fantastic and it gave us the opportunity to introduce lots of new vocabulary too. The children enjoyed watching the film clip afterwards and seeing how similar their ideas were too.
Following this, we had quite a shock when a message in a bottle strangely appeared in class. It was a letter from Captain Hook! He wants us to become pirates, but we have some important pirate training tasks to complete first. The children are keen to get started…!
