Year 3 were lucky enough to have a visitor in today who taught us all about Light! The children had a wonderful time learning all about how light is made up of different colours and how these different colours travel at different speeds. They were also excited to learn that light can travel slower through materials such as glass.
The children were very excited to see this demonstrated in real life where they watched camera projections through a prism spectrometer. They also enjoyed having the opportunity to witness this through plastic spectrometers. Following on from this, the children were also excited to see a Newtonian telescope and enjoyed observing what could be seen. A big thank you to our volunteer for a fun and unique opportunity to see this equipment and how it works!
