Dosbarth Cherry Blossom used a light box and coloured counters to practise their subitising skills. First coloured counters were dropped onto the light box and the children had to show the same amount of fingers. They were really clever and used their subitising skills, they didn’t need to count. Then they were able to conceptually subitise (recognise smaller values within larger ones) by showing that in three they could see a one and a two, or a one and another one and another one. They could also see that two is made from a one and another one. Amazing maths skills. Well done!
