On Friday, Dosbarth Hazel had a fun filled day undertaking activities that introduced them to our new big question- How can the past shape our present?

The children were fascinated to learn all about hieroglyphics and loved their crack the code activity whereby they had to discover the name of ancient artefacts using a hieroglyphic translator sheet. They then had matching information packs that told them all about what each artefact represented.

The children also enjoyed writing down their ideas for what they would like to learn about this term. They made excellent suggestions that will now inform the planning for this big question. Year 3 also enjoyed scribing hieroglyphic messages to their friends outdoors using chalk.
