Year 5 got prepared for their upcoming writing task by role-playing Mamo from our class book, The Garbage King. They imagined they were sat around the fire with a gang from the streets of Ethiopia and retold the story of how they too had become homeless, uploading their recounts to Flipgrid. This helped us to think about Mamo’s thoughts and feelings before writing a diary entry!
