Year 2 Special Journeys in Islam

Today the children have been busy researching the Muslim pilgrimage of Hajj. They used Get Epic and Encyclopaedia Britannica to find and record their most interesting facts. They found out that Hajj is a special journey to Makkah or Mecca in Saudi Arabia that Muslims are expected to make at least once in their life if they are able to.

Once there, they visit the Grand Mosque and inside there is a stone building covered in black cloth which is seen as the holiest place in the world for Muslims. It is called the Kaaba and people face it when praying. It was so interesting listening to the children’s facts! Well done Year 2.
