Following on from our initial lesson whereby we chose to focus on the three emotions Happy, Angry and Worried, Reception pupils have spent the week creating the emotional tool kits that they chose to have when feeling such emotions.

Reception pupils each chose to have a personalised notepad where inside they wanted to draw pictures of their friends, family and pets and write their numbers 1-10. Pupils felt that by having these pictures inside an easily accessible notepad, which they could access when needed, this would allow them to feel happy and overcome any emotions such as angry or worried.

Pupils also chose to have a ‘talking dragon’ displayed in our emotions corner, along with emotion flashcards, which they could pick up and take to an adult to explain how they are feeling.

Pupils have made very effective use of these toolkit’s and have enjoyed undertaking these lessons as part of our Erasmus project!
