We are bucket fillers!

Year 3 have had lots of fun this morning reading the book “Have you filled a bucket today?” by Carol McCloud.

The book explores how we all carry an invisible bucket that contains our feelings. When our bucket is full, we feel happy but when our bucket is empty we feel sad. To be a bucket filler we need to say or do nice things for other people. By doing this, we fill other people’s buckets and fill our own at the same time!

The children particularly enjoyed writing kind messages to a friend to place in their bucket on our class display as well as sorting which actions were helpful or not helpful to fill a bucket. We even have a pledge in class to promise to do our best every day at home, in school and everywhere we go to fill a bucket!

I think we are going to make excellent bucket fillers in Year 3!
