Year 5 have had a wonderful couple of afternoons getting to know the Romans this week. On Monday they took part in a Roman Bootcamp in class where the children got to learn how to march like a Roman soldier. They also looked at various Roman artefacts on the Caerleon National Museum website, giving their opinions about them on Flipgrid. Then they got to virtually look around a reconstructed Roman barrack room, listen to Roman soldier describe the conditions they slept in and take a quiz on Kahoot about everything they had learnt. This was all in preparation for our Live Video Call with the Welsh National Museum based in Caerleon this afternoon. The learnt lots of facts about the Roman soldiers and what it took to be a Roman soldier! They asked lots of questions showing that they had listened very well.
